One Week!

Yes, friends--I will return to Plymouth in one week!

It has been an awe-inspiring sabbatical -- more renewing than I ever imagined possible. Thank you.

For my final (away) conference, I was blessed to spend time with one of my favorite poet/artist/authors, Rev. Jan Richardson. Upon ordination, my mentor gifted me with one of Jan's books; In Wisdom's Path (due for a reprint very soon) has been at my side ever since.

At this retreat (Companions on the Inner Way, supported by Seventh Avenue Church, PCUSA, San Francisco) I participated in learning, acting and creative endeavors. Responding to scripture with collage was a big part of the picture (see example to the left), as was daily worship, forum and small group lectio divina.

Lake Tahoe (Nevada side) was the perfect setting for this final adventure of renewal and education.

Back in Fort Collins, Ruminate Magazine hosted a session called "Responding to Scripture with Poetry" with poet Paul Willis --
I couldn't resist this local opportunity! (and I've already devoured one of his delightful books)

I can't express (ironic, isn't it?) how supported I feel in all of my travels and experiences. Plymouth, you are an amazing community to be a part of, and I look forward to rejoining you and sharing some of this summer's sabbatical reading and writing! (Don't forget the evening of Saturday, September 11 - at the annual art show - will be your official opportunity to hear my tales).

Until then....

I love Jan Richardson's art and reflections. I re-read her Advent - Christmas meditations on entering into darkness every year.

Her small Advent book, Night Visions (is that the one?), is my favorite.
